The round trip

From gallery to catalogue and back

The whole round trip happens inside Lightroom Classic.

Step 1

Import

Pick an event and album, select photos and choose a folder. A “Not yet in Lightroom” filter and ✓ marks show what you already have.

Step 2

Develop

Edit in Lightroom Classic exactly as you do today. Your catalogue, your presets, your workflow.

Step 3

Publish

Click Publish on the event’s collection. Each edit uploads as a new photo in that album, linked to its original.

Step 4

Re-edit

Change a published photo and it queues for re-publish. Publishing again replaces the earlier edit, so there are no duplicates.

What it does

  • Works on photos you didn’t shoot yourself: a second shooter’s FTP uploads, or files delivered to an editor.

  • Imported photos go straight into a published collection bound to the event, so publishing needs no dragging.

  • Originals are never overwritten or replaced. Edits sit alongside them.

  • One publish service in the sidebar covers every event you’re working on.

  • An account screen shows your studio, API key and live connection checks.

Good to know

  • Export as JPEG or TIFF in sRGB. PSD isn’t accepted, so flatten layered files on export.

  • Only sRGB is offered, so AdobeRGB or ProPhoto edits don’t look washed out in the client gallery.

  • Photos sent through Edit In › Photoshop come back as a new “-Edit” photo. Use “Add Photoshop Edits to Pixelshield” to file them in the right collection.

Set up

Connected in three steps

No studio address to type in. Your API key tells the plugin which studio you are.

1

Get the plugin from Adobe Exchange, or download it from Settings › Integrations after signing in, and unzip it.

2

In Lightroom Classic, open File › Plug-in Manager › Add and select the pixelshield.lrplugin folder.

3

Run Import from Pixelshield. The first time, paste an API key created in Settings › Integrations (name it “Lightroom”).

FAQ

Questions photographers ask

No. It is built for Lightroom Classic and uses Classic’s Plug-in Manager and Publish Services.

Never. Each edit uploads as a new photo in the album, linked to the original it came from. Re-publishing replaces your previous edit, not the original.

Yes. Use Edit In › Photoshop as usual, then run “Add Photoshop Edits to Pixelshield” so the -Edit file joins the right published collection. If you work in Photoshop without a Lightroom catalogue, use the Photoshop plugin instead.

Every paid plan, from Professional up, includes both Lightroom Integration and Adobe Photoshop Integration, so you never pay for the plugins separately. The Free Trial doesn’t include them. See Pricing for the full comparison.

Retouch in Photoshop instead?

The Photoshop plugin opens Pixelshield originals and publishes your retouch back, no Lightroom catalogue needed.
