At PixelShield, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our platform, mobile application, or any related services designed to connect photographers and customers in one secure space.

1. Purpose of Data Collection

We collect personal information only for clearly defined purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Creating and managing user accounts
  • Facilitating communication between photographers and customers
  • Processing bookings, enquiries, and payments
  • Improving platform functionality, security, and user experience
  • Delivering personalized recommendations and service enhancements

We ensure users are informed of these purposes at, or before, the time of data collection.

2. Lawful and Limited Use

PixelShield processes personal information strictly for legitimate business purposes and as outlined in this policy.

We do not use your data for unrelated or unauthorized activities unless:

  • You provide explicit consent, or
  • Required by applicable law or regulatory obligation.

3. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:

  • Fulfill the purposes for which it was collected
  • Comply with legal, tax, or regulatory requirements
  • Resolve disputes or enforce agreements

Once no longer required, data is securely deleted, anonymized, or archived.

4. Fair and Legal Collection

All personal data is collected through lawful, transparent, and fair means.

  • Where required, we obtain explicit consent from users before collecting sensitive or optional information.
  • We only collect data relevant to providing and improving PixelShield's services.

5. Data Accuracy

We take reasonable steps to:

  • Ensure that personal information is accurate, up-to-date, and complete
  • Allow users to review and update their information at any time through account settings or by contacting support

6. Security Measures

PixelShield implements industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security safeguards, including:

  • Encrypted data storage and transmission
  • Access control and authentication mechanisms
  • Regular security audits
  • Protection against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or data breach
While we strive for maximum security, no online system is entirely risk-free.

7. Access to Policies & Personal Information

Users have the right to:

  • Request access to their personal data
  • Request corrections or deletion where applicable
  • Understand how their data is stored and processed

Upon request, PixelShield will provide clear information regarding the handling of personal data.

8. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

  • We are dedicated to conducting our business in accordance with applicable privacy laws and best industry practices.
  • PixelShield continuously reviews and updates its policies to ensure your information remains secure, confidential, and responsibly managed.

9. Desktop Plugins (Lightroom and Photoshop)

PixelShield offers optional plugins for Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop that let photographers import original photos from their PixelShield events, edit them, and publish the edits back to their client galleries. This section explains what those plugins handle.

What the plugins send. To work, a plugin sends the following to your PixelShield account, and nowhere else:

  • The API key you created for it, to identify your studio
  • The plugin's name and version, so we can tell you when an update is available
  • Edited photos you choose to publish, with their file names and sizes and the PixelShield identifiers that link each edit to its original

Photos are uploaded to, and downloaded from, PixelShield's cloud storage using secure, time-limited links issued by your PixelShield account. All transfers use encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

What stays on your computer.

  • Your API key. The Lightroom plugin keeps it in Lightroom's plugin preferences on your computer; the Photoshop plugin keeps it in Photoshop's secure storage.
  • The PixelShield identifiers of imported photos, saved in your Lightroom catalog or in the Photoshop document's metadata, so edits can be matched to their originals.
  • Error logs. The Lightroom plugin writes a log file to your Documents folder; the Photoshop plugin logs only to Photoshop's developer console. Logs are never sent to us.

What the plugins do not do. They contain no analytics, advertising, or tracking, and they do not share any data with third parties. They only download or upload photos when you ask them to.

Your control. You can disconnect a plugin from inside Lightroom or Photoshop at any time, and revoke its API key in PixelShield under Settings > Integrations. A revoked key stops working immediately and does not affect any other integration. Photos published through a plugin are handled like any other photo in your account, as described in the rest of this policy.

10. Pricing Currency and IP Location

To show prices in your currency, our servers look up the country of your IP address in a geolocation database stored on our own servers. Visitors in India see prices in INR and everyone else in USD. Your IP address is not sent to any third party for this lookup.

IP geolocation by DB-IP, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
